Fetch Pet Insurance Review for Georgia Pet Owners (2026)

September 28, 2026

Bottom line: Fetch is a strong fit for Georgia dog and cat owners who want one comprehensive accident and illness plan with sick-visit exam fees, dental disease and hereditary conditions already built in. It is a weaker fit if you need pregnancy or breeding coverage, or if the lowest monthly cost is your top priority. Here is what the plan covers, what it doesn't, and how to see your Georgia price.

What Fetch covers

Fetch's accident and illness plan covers injuries and illnesses, emergency visits, specialists, diagnostic tests, surgery, hospital stays, prescriptions and supplements, physical therapy, and alternative and holistic care. It also covers breed-specific and hereditary conditions, which matters for breeds prone to problems like hip dysplasia or allergies.

Two features set Fetch apart from many plans:

  • Exam fees are included. Many plans charge extra for the vet's exam fee on a sick visit. Fetch includes it, up to $250.
  • Every adult tooth is covered. Fetch covers dental injury and disease in all adult teeth and the gums, not only the canine teeth.

What Fetch does not cover

  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Routine and preventive care, unless you add Fetch Wellness
  • Prescription food
  • Breeding and pregnancy
  • Anything that happened before coverage started or during a waiting period
  • Claims filed more than 90 days after treatment

Waiting periods

Fetch's help center says accident coverage begins on the policy's effective date and illness coverage begins after 15 days. Orthopedic conditions such as hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament tears and luxating patellas have a 6-month waiting period. The knee waiting period can be waived if a vet exam within 180 days of enrollment documents healthy knees. Waiting periods can vary by state, so check your policy's terms.

Who Fetch fits best in Georgia

  • New puppy and kitten owners. Enrollment starts at 6 weeks, before most conditions can become pre-existing.
  • Owners of breeds with known health issues. Hereditary and breed-specific conditions are covered.
  • Owners who want dental covered. Every adult tooth and the gums, with no dental sublimit.
  • Owners of older pets. There is no upper age limit to enroll.

When Prudent Pet may fit better

  • Price is your top priority. Prudent Pet's Accident Only plan covers injuries only, at a lower cost than full accident and illness coverage.
  • You want no annual cap. Prudent Pet's Ultimate plan has an unlimited annual limit.
